Eligibility

Who it’s for: anyone exploring Arc services for the first time
There are no charges for Arc Imperial Valley programs and services. To be eligible, an individual must meet the requirement for funding authorization with the Department of Rehabilitation and maintain an active case with a Regional Center.
Applicants must be at least 18 years or older (transitional programs available for younger individuals). Participants need medical evidence of a vocational disability; seizure and psychotic disorders must be medically controlled, and individuals must not present a danger of injury to self, others, or property. Reasonable accommodations are available under the ADA.
Enrollment also depends on available space in the desired program, and each specific Arc program or service may have its own additional entrance criteria beyond these general requirements.

Employment Services
Understand it in 15 seconds: federal contract work, janitorial training, and community jobs with ongoing support.
Who it’s for: participants ready to learn job skills and work toward employment
Arc offers qualified individuals a chance to work on federal government contracts through the AbilityOne program, earning levels of accomplishment through the STARS Program while training in the janitorial industry. Arc is the largest janitorial service provider in the Imperial Valley, and also offers subcontracting, a commercial kitchen, a car wash, and a Recycling Center.
Our approach: assess each consumer’s vocational interests and abilities, build awareness of the skills and duties required at various worksites, provide as much meaningful community-based work as possible, and offer ongoing support once someone is placed.
Two main paths: the Work Activity Program (WAP), where workers complete jobs like recycling, assembling, and packaging; and the Supported Employment Program (SEP / Enclave), for consumers ready to work in the community with supervision.

Day Services

Arc Imperial Valley offers a range of day services for individuals who require significant support through to those who are ready to work in the community. All three programs offer skills-building and vocational opportunities for qualified individuals with intellectual disabilities.

Transportation
Understand it in 15 seconds: ADA paratransit and medical transport, Monday–Friday, MediCal accepted.
Who it’s for: qualified persons with disabilities needing rides to programs, work, or medical care
With over 40 years of experience, Arc’s transportation program delivers curb-to-curb paratransit service to work sites, day programs, medical appointments, and educational, recreational, and social activities for qualified persons with disabilities.
We also provide Non-Emergency Medical Transportation throughout Imperial and San Diego counties. Arc Imperial Valley now accepts MediCal coverage. Our team operates Monday through Friday, 6:30 am–4:30 pm.

Residential Services
Understand it in 15 seconds: licensed group homes and independent living, built around dignity and community.
Who it’s for: adults with intellectual disabilities seeking housing and community-based living support
Arc Imperial Valley provides residential services for adults with intellectual disabilities as a licensed Intermediate Care Facility for the Developmentally Disabled (ICF/DD-H). Our family-style homes promote independent living, community involvement, and personal development.
Residents take part in learning activities tied to yearly objectives, and have employment opportunities where they can earn income. Licensed group homes offer recreational activities, special outings, and celebrations.
